Murphy is Daddy of Scary Spice’s Baby

A DNA test has confirmed actor-comedian Eddie Murphy is the father of the newborn daughter of Spice Girl singer Melanie Brown, People magazine reported, citing Brown’s representative. Singer Mel received the news in LA from the Beverly Hills Clinic where Murphy had been ordered by a court to take a DNA test this month.
Murphy, who has continually denied the child is his, recently vowed to stand by Brown if a DNA test proved he was the dad. But the 46-year-old actor, who split with Scary Spice, 32, during her pregnancy, has insisted he would “do the right thing” if the tot was proved to be his.
Brown, who dated Murphy last (northern) summer, was “Scary Spice” in the 1990s all-girl British pop group that scored hit songs such as Wannabe. After splitting from Mel, Eddie said he wasn’t sure he was the father, accusing Mel of sleeping around.

He told Dutch TV at the time: “I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a test.” But Mel - who has another daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzer - hit back, saying: “It just goes to show how desperate Eddie has got.
“I may have met another man for entirely innocent purposes, but I was always faithful to Eddie. He is the father of my baby and he knows it.”
Eddie, who is now dating movie producer Tracey Edmonds, has not seen Mel or Angel Iris since she was born on April 3 - which is also his birthday.
Members of the group have scheduled a news conference for next Thursday, sparking speculation that they will reunite for a tour and album.
